Life Hello to anyone reading! I hope life's been kind to you. I've survived several lifetimes' worth of curveballs, and thanks to resilience and sheer luck I'm still standing. I joined the Army right out of high school, to serve my country and get some badly needed discipline in my life. Later, as a civilian, I worked retail until my nerdy juvenile obsession with computers suddenly started to pay off; that paid the bills (more or less) until the VA awarded me service-connected disability benefits in 2001 (PTSD, brain injury). I wisely escaped from uptight Orange County to lovely, laid-back Santa Cruz in 1993 and can't imagine ever leaving now.
